Rio Health Huacapurana (Cumandá) 30ml
£35.49
- Tincture of Campsiandra angustifolia aka Huacapurana and Cumandá
- Minimum Dry Herb Potency Ratio 1:3
- Dropper for easy dispensing
The Huacapurana tree (Campsiandra angustifolia) is native to the Amazon rainforest and has been used by healers in Peru for centuries. The common name Huacapurana has also been used for other species, but in Peru, the ‘authentic Huacapurana’ is Campsiandra angustifolia. The tree produces small white-to-pinkish flowers with red stamens and a large bean pod form which the ground seeds provide ‘chigo flour’—a food for people and livestock. Other common names for Campsiandra angustifolia are Gapo and, in Brazil, Cumandá.
Each 1.5ml (30 drops) recommended daily dosage contains: Huacapurana alcohol water extract which is the equivalent of 500mg Huacapurana bark.
Ingredients: Pure Cane Alcohol, Osmotic Water, Huacapurana (Campsiandra angustifolia) bark from Peru.
Minimum Dry Herb Potency Ratio: 1:3
Contents: 30 ml
Alcohol content: 55 Vol.%
Food Supplement—Botanical Tincture
Suggested Adult (age 16+ years) Use: 15-30 drops, 2 times daily in 120ml (4 oz.) of water. We recommend starting with a lower dose of 1 drop and titrating up to the 15-30 drops unless otherwise recommended by your practitioner. Maximum 60 drops per day.
For children aged from 4 (weight/size to be considered), 3 times daily, give one drop per number of years of age.
The Rio Health range, new in 2020, is a range of 25 tinctures of mainly South American botanicals. Each is a 1:3 tincture using 55% alcohol, provided in glass bottles with calibrated dropper for easy dispensing. Most of the plants are grown in Peru where they are ecologically wildcrafted.
Unlike tablets and capsules which need to be broken down by the digestive system, tinctures absorb readily by the body. No excipients are needed so each tincture contains only water, alcohol and the botanical ingredient(s). Tinctures also readily permit easy titration (increasing of dose slowly upward), which is an important consideration for adults and children alike.
Note that Rio Health tinctures likely can be used at lower dose (number of drops) than some other brands, and are competitively priced.
