  • Tincture of Achillea millefolium (aka Yarrow) and Calycophyllum spruceanum (aka Mulateiro) bark
  • Minimum Dry Herb Potency Ratio 1:3
  • Dropper for easy dispensing

Mulateiro Plus is a formulation contains the extracts of Yarrow (Achillea millefolium) and Mulateiro (Calycophyllum spruceanum). Achillea millefolium grows in many parts of the world and has many common names besides Yarrow including ‘Wound Wort’, ‘Staunchweed’ and ‘Nosebleed’. Yarrow has many traditional uses. Calycophyllum spruceanum is a multi-purpose canopy tree in the Amazon that propagates easily from its many seeds. Commonly called Mulateiro or Capirona, this tall tree annually sheds and regenerates its bark, which means harvesting the bark is a totally renewable and sustainable enterprise. This particular species is indigenous to the Amazon basin in Peru (where it is known as Capirona), Brazil (where it is known as Mulateiro), Bolivia and Ecuador. Use of the bark is deeply ingrained in native culture.

Each 0.5 ml (10 drops) recommended daily dosage contains: blend of Yarrow/Mulateiro alcohol  water extract which is the equivalent of 117mg Yarrow flowers/leaves/stems plus 50mg Mulateiro bark.

Ingredients: Pure Cane Alcohol, Osmotic Water, Yarrow (Achillea millefolium) flowers/leaves/stems (70%) from Peru, Mulateiro (Calycophyllum spruceanum) bark (30%) from Peru.

Minimum Dry Herb Potency Ratio: 1:3

Contents: 30 ml   Alcohol content: 55 Vol.%

Food Supplement—Botanical Tincture

Suggested Adult (age 16+ years) Use: 10-20 drops, two to four times daily in 120ml (4 oz) water, 30 minutes before food. We recommend starting with a lower dose of 1 drop and titrating up to the 20 drops unless otherwise advised by your practitioner. Maximum 80 drops per day.

For child dosage, consult your practitioner. Not suitable for pregnant or lactating women. If you are taking diuretic medication or have a medical condition, consult with a health care professional before use.

The Rio Health range, new in 2020, is a range of 25 tinctures of mainly South American botanicals. Each is a 1:3 tincture using 55% alcohol, provided in glass bottles with calibrated dropper for easy dispensing. Most of the plants are grown in Peru where they are ecologically wildcrafted.

Unlike tablets and capsules which need to be broken down by the digestive system, tinctures absorb readily by the body. No excipients are needed so each tincture contains only water, alcohol and the botanical ingredient(s). Tinctures also readily permit easy titration (increasing of dose slowly upward), which is an important consideration for adults and children alike.

Note that Rio Health tinctures likely can be used at lower dose (number of drops) than some other brands, and are competitively priced.
