Rio Health Drops of Wellness
  • Tincture of Cecropia strigosa aka Takuna
  • Minimum Dry Herb Potency Ratio 1:3
  • Dropper for easy dispensing

Cecropia strigosa is a member of the nettle family (Urticaeae); this tree is found throughout South America. Several species of Cecropia are referred to locally as Embauba, Trumpet Tree, Yagrumo or Takuna. Embauba is the common name used in Brazil; it comes from the Tupi word ‘ambaiba’ which means hollow trunk.

Each 1.5ml (30 drops) recommended daily dosage contains: Cecropia alcohol water extract which is the equivalent of 500mg Cecropia bark.

Ingredients: Pure Cane Alcohol, Osmotic Water, Cecropia (Cecropia strigosa) bark from Peru.

Minimum Dry Herb Potency Ratio: 1:3

    Contents: 30 ml

    Alcohol content: 55 Vol.%

    Food Supplement—Botanical Tincture

Suggested Adult (age 16+ years) Use: 15-30 drops, 2 times daily in 120ml (4 oz.) of water. We recommend starting with a lower dose of 1 drop and titrating up to the 30 drops unless otherwise advised by your practitioner. Maximum 60 drops per day.

NOTE: can add 3 drops each dosage.

For children aged from 4 (size/weight to be considered), 3 times daily, give one drop per number of years of age.

The Rio Health range, new in 2020, is a range of 25 tinctures of mainly South American botanicals. Each is a 1:3 tincture using 55% alcohol, provided in glass bottles with calibrated dropper for easy dispensing. Most of the plants are grown in Peru where they are ecologically wildcrafted.

Unlike tablets and capsules which need to be broken down by the digestive system, tinctures absorb readily by the body. No excipients are needed so each tincture contains only water, alcohol and the botanical ingredient(s). Tinctures also readily permit easy titration (increasing of dose slowly upward), which is an important consideration for adults and children alike.

Note that Rio Health tinctures likely can be used at lower dose (number of drops) than some other brands, and are competitively priced.
