Rio Health Is Back: A New Chapter Begins

4 min Read

If you’ve visited the Rio Health website recently, you may have noticed that things are looking a little different.

The website has had a complete refresh, new packaging is beginning to appear across parts of the range, and there has been plenty happening behind the scenes.

After a rather long break from the Rio blog, we thought this was probably the right place to start. Rio Health itself is far from new. The brand has been around since 1986, with a long history of bringing distinctive South American botanicals and natural health products to customers around the world.

One of the biggest changes in recent years has been the team helping to take Rio forward.

A little about us

Gudz is a family-run business helping to support and grow Rio Health. It started from a bedroom, with no outside investors and a very small team. In the early days, we did everything ourselves, from packing orders to answering customers and working the late nights that often come with building a business from scratch.

Things have grown since then. We now work from warehouses and have a wider team around us, but we have tried hard not to lose the way we started. We are still involved in the day-to-day business, we still care about the small details, and we still believe every customer matters.

A lot of that comes from our family. Our late grandfather, who we called Bapuji, believed strongly in discipline, respect and keeping your word. Those are simple values, but they continue to influence the way we work and the businesses we choose to build.

When the opportunity came to play a bigger part in Rio Health’s future, it felt like a natural fit.

Why Rio?

What drew us to Rio was that it already had something many newer health brands spend years trying to create: a genuine identity and history.

For four decades, South American ingredients have been at the heart of the brand, from Quebra Pedra and Pau d’Arco to Yerba Maté, Guaraná, Graviola and Rosa Mosqueta. They aren’t simply products on a shelf. Many have their own histories, traditions and stories behind them, and we think there is a lot more Rio can do to tell those stories properly.

We don’t want to turn Rio into another generic supplement brand. We want to build on what has always made it different.

What’s changing?

The most obvious change is the website. We have completely refreshed riohealth.co.uk to make the range easier to explore and the products easier to understand. There is still more work to come, but we already feel the new site gives Rio a much stronger home.

You will also begin to see refreshed packaging across parts of the range. The aim is to give Rio a more contemporary look while keeping the character and heritage that existing customers recognise.

We are also putting much more focus into content and communication. That means the Rio blog is officially back. Our plan is to share new content regularly, whether that’s looking at the story behind a particular botanical, exploring herbal teas and skincare, sharing product guides or giving you a look behind the scenes.

You will also see more of Rio across social media, email and through our retail partners. Most importantly, we want the brand to feel more connected to the people who buy it.

What isn’t changing?

We know some customers have been using Rio products for many years, so we also want to reassure you that this new chapter isn’t about changing everything for the sake of it.

Rio’s South American roots and the products people have returned to over the years remain at the heart of the brand. Our job is to give those foundations more attention, improve the experience around them and introduce Rio to people who may never have discovered it before.

Rio around the world

Rio Health continues to serve customers internationally through the website, while Gudz supports the brand as its exclusive distributor for the UK and Ireland.

So whether you’ve been buying Rio for years, recently rediscovered us or are visiting for the very first time, you’re very much part of what comes next.

Looking ahead

There is plenty planned for Rio. You will see more content, refreshed packaging, new ideas, a stronger retail presence and a lot more activity around the brand.

Some things will happen quickly and others will take a little longer, but we are excited about the direction Rio is heading in.

We also want to hear from you. If there is a Rio product you have been using for years, something you would like us to write about or simply something you think we could do better, we would genuinely love to know.

For now, we just wanted to properly introduce ourselves and say hello.

Thank you for being here. We’re looking forward to the next chapter.
